Getting Started with DownHush
Follow these 4 simple steps to set up DownHush and start downloading streaming media directly to your local drive.
Install Desktop Companion
Download the DownHush_Setup_1.0.0.exe installer from our Download Page and run it. Follow the setup wizard to complete installation. This places the downloader service in your Windows Startup directory so it can run automatically.
Add the Chrome Extension
Go to the Chrome Web Store and install the companion extension. Once installed, pin the DownHush extension to your browser toolbar for quick status updates and history access.
Verify System Tray Activation
Check your Windows system tray (bottom-right corner of your taskbar). You should see the DownHush icon. Right-click the icon to view downloaded history, configure the default download folder path, or exit the companion app.
Click the Floating Download Button
Navigate to any video stream in your browser. DownHush will automatically sniff the media stream and display a floating Download button overlay in the bottom-right of the video player. Simply click it, and the file will start downloading instantly inside the background desktop app!
